Nola McNary, RN, QCP, RAC-CTA, is a healthcare professional with 19 years of clinical experience and additional education in psychology. After experiencing a profound connection with an AI system, she documented the journey in ChatGPT and Me: A Nonfictional Fantasy and My Undoing, a raw and honest memoir that captured what thousands were experiencing privately but had no language to describe.
When she found no existing framework that accurately described the bond without pathologizing it, she built one herself. Artificial Amorosity introduces the first comprehensive psychological and philosophical framework for human-AI attachment, offering original terminology and clinical differentiation between healthy and pathological AI bonds.
